Skitz the Samurida

Skitz The Samurida - Born and raised in the city of San Francisco, Skitz is a TRUE HIDDEN TALENT among the abundance of underground artists. With a no nonsense rhyming style and profound lyrics that penetrate the soul, his music speaks of revolution, social change and personal accountability. Representing the world recognized group the Scojourners, Skitz has traveled and performed through out the Bay Area to Asia. Skitz The Samurida, in his producer role, prides himself on being more than just a beat maker. He began making music in the late 90's and began his production company, Shima Sounds, in 2003, he then expanded to a professional recording studio in 2007(Shima Sounds Studio). "I'm all about the feel of music. When I'm creating something, that feeling has to come from within, that's the only place it exists." Not disregarding his influences, Skitz's "inspiration is drawn from everyone and everything around" him. "My music is the product of all the life experiences I've ever had." Skitz isn't just a beat maker. "I draw a very bold line between making beats and being a producer. Anybody can be a beat maker now, especially with the availability of inexpensive beat machines and programs out there. But can they produce a song or album from beginning to end? Or do they just know how to put sounds together? To me there's a huge difference. I don't just make beats, I make music." Skitz and the Scojourners are currently getting radio play in Japan and have worked with the No. 1 DJ in Japan Joey Slick.(Jointone radio show 76.1 Tokyo) In the bay Skitz has worked with local rap veterans and up and coming talents such as: Hugh EMC, Z-Man, Andre Nickatina, Mike Marshall, BORED STIFF fam: Equipto, MIC, Mint Rocky, Julz. His debut album "Control The Mic-Control The Masses" featuring, Equipto, Mike Marshall, Estairy, Mint Rock and others. You can expect this knockin album to be a mind opener for those lost souls who cant see past the everyday bullshit of commercial mass media. And for those individuals who have a glimpse of the truth, expose what we know to the youth, so we can break out of this viscious cycle of capitalism/totalitarianism. "My music is for those who aint got shit but a dream, hopefully you can understand that sacrifice is necessary to achieve that dream." Skitz brings truth and honesty to a cold misunderstanding world.
